Didwana, Kuchaman, Sargol, and Khatu are names of saline lakes located in the state of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan's arid and semi-arid climate, characterized by low rainfall and high evaporation, contributes to the formation of inland salt lakes and basins.
Didwana Lake, situated in the Nagaur district, is a prominent saltwater lake known for its salt production. Kuchaman Lake, Sargol, and Khatu also contain high concentrations of dissolved salts.
(a) Glaciers: These geographical locations are in the desert and arid regions of Rajasthan, which are not conducive to the formation or presence of glaciers. Glaciers are typically found in high-altitude mountainous or polar environments.
(b) Mangrove areas: Rajasthan is an inland state without a coastline. Consequently, it does not possess the coastal or estuarine ecosystems required to support mangrove vegetation.
(c) Ramsar sites: While Rajasthan is home to internationally recognized Ramsar sites such as Sambhar Lake and Keoladeo National Park, Didwana, Kuchaman, Sargol, and Khatu are not currently designated as Ramsar sites.
